What is exercise therapy?
Exercise therapy employs therapeutic exercises to treat injuries, address chronic conditions, and resolve incorrect movement patterns that result in pain or lost mobility. It's also beneficial for preserving your chiropractic adjustments, improving your general physical fitness, and helping you achieve wellness and relief through holistic means.
Chiropractic care and exercise therapy offer remarkable benefits, especially when administered together as part of a wellness plan. When combined with simple stretches and low-impact exercises, chiropractic patients often find that their injuries heal faster, their pain is reduced, and they feel better and more energetic.
Stretches loosen tight muscles and keep joints lubricated, which helps misaligned bones and joints move back into the proper position with chiropractic care.
Exercise therapy and sports injury rehabilitation, including stretching, can help injured tissues regain strength, flexibility, and function. These therapeutic exercises strengthen your back and neck muscles, allowing your body to maintain that corrected posture and spinal alignment. It also helps you become more resistant to injuries and helps prevent chronic strains.
What to Expect
Our exercise therapy program contains three phases that progress with you through your treatment plan. This allows you to perform your exercises independently with confidence. In the first phase, we'll perform an assessment to test your strength and range of movement. Depending on your needs, you may need to come in anywhere from weekly to twice a month. Most people spend about a month on each phase, but your individual needs may differ. During each session, we'll work with you and train you on how to perform your targeted exercises at home.
Our 3-Phase Approach:
Stretches that help to lengthen the muscle and increase the joint’s mobility throughout the normal range of motion paired with exercises to reinitiate muscle memory.
Stabilization focuses on progressed exercises for the muscles to begin to hold the proper joint alignment which incorporates exercise equipment.
Prolonged proper alignment can be achieved by strengthening the muscles and surrounding joints to allow for optimal performance throughout your daily activities.
