MASSAGE THERAPY

Your body's muscles and skeletal system are designed to work together, which is why massage therapy and chiropractic care go hand in hand.

By integrating both treatments into your wellness care, you will experience longer lasting benefits that include:

-More sustained relief from muscle pain and tension
-Improved function in the nervous system
-Greater gains in range of motion and balance
-Improved healing time and decreased recovery time
-Increased blood flow and circulation

"Massage" is just a general term for rubbing and manipulating the skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.  We offer different types of massage to best fit your needs whether it's for relaxation, prenatal, or working with a specific injury in combination with your  chiropractic care.

Types of massage include:

  • Deep Tissue Massage: Slow, forceful strokes are used to target the deep layer of muscle and connective tissue. This type of massage is great for managing pain, breaking down scar tissue, and circulating blood flow.
  • Neuromuscular Massage (Trigger-Point Therapy): Using their fingers, knuckles, or elbows, your massage therapist will apply concentrated pressure to tender and tight muscles and areas where you experience muscle spasms. This type of massage addresses chronic pain, circulation, postural issues, nerve compression, and problems caused by overuse injuries.
  • Swedish Massage: This is a gentle, relaxing massage that uses long strokes, circular movements, kneading, and tapping to relieve muscle tension and to energize you. Swedish is the most common type of massage.
  • Prenatal Massage: Adapted for the anatomical changes women go through during pregnancy, accommodations are made to allow for optimal comfort and safety. Sideline positioning with supportive, soft pillows is used to alleviate the extra strain on the lower back and pelvic areas. A series of stretches performed during a prenatal massage help relieve aching joints, reduce muscle tension, relieve lower back pain, increase flexibility, and open ligaments.

**Prenatal massages are not permitted during the first trimester.

Hello! I am a South Carolina local, born and raised in Irmo. I am the oldest of five children and was homeschooled all the way through high school. I am also a mother to an amazing daughter.

I graduated from the Clinical Massage Therapy program at Midlands Technical College.  I became interested in massage therapy after
researching and using a type of lymphatic massage on my daughter to cure an ear infection, and I've been a believer in the power of massage ever since!

I've always wanted to work with my hands in a way that would help others. After learning the benefits that massage provides the body, I became determined to be a licensed therapist. It has come very naturally to me, and I'll never look back! I am passionate about helping people feel their absolute best.

When I was in fourth grade, I was diagnosed with patellar maltracking. In laymen's terms, my knee was misaligned and kept popping out of place, causing accidental falls and limited range of motion. It became painful to walk, and I had two options--physical therapy or surgery. My parents and I chose physical therapy. I did treatment for months, and eventually, I could walk pain free! I was so amazed at how the body worked to heal and repair itself; I knew then that I wanted to help people as my therapist helped me.

Fast forward to years later, I obtained my undergrad at Lander University in Exercise Science and later went on to Midlands Technical College and studied Clinical Massage Therapy. I am passionate about how massage improves the quality of life; it not only helps with the physical, but studies show that massage can positively impact a person's mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. It is an honor to be a vessel of healing, and my goal and prayer is for every patient I come in contact with to leave better than they came.
